Stack of Progress

This is not a stack of unfinished quilts--this is a stack of progress!! These need to be quilted and bound before they can find new forever homes.

Car Seat Cover for Baby Darin

Today I finished up a new project--a Car Seat Cover. After hearing my sister talk about how a blanket over the carseat fell off or made the handle slippery, I thought I'd try to whip up one of these.

I used a fun monkey print for the outside and did a bright and colorful car print on the inside with velcro straps. I thought if he was awake that would give him something stimulating to look at. I have seen car seat covers made with minky but I tend to think it would be heavy and not let as much air flow through. Just my thoughts!

Here's how it turned out:

Custom Order: Nautical Quilt(s)

I got an order for a nauticul quilt that would be given as a gift. While it was in process, my client found out she was expecting as well!

I combined a couple diferent patterns I found online and finally settled on this:

Just in case she decided to keep the quilt, I sewed an extra quilt with some of the leftover fabric and added in some other fun nautical prints and came up with this fun nautical chevron quilt. Here's a shot of the quilt top and the back, which was a red minky dot fabric. I quilted on the chevrons and was very happy with how it came out.

 And yes, she bought both!

Puppy Love!

You may already know that I can be a little picky about the inside of my car and while I love pups of all kinds, they can be messy!

Since I would be dogsitting soon, I whipped up this seat cover, hammock style. This is great because it keeps the pups from getting into the front seat and if I have to stop quickly they won't fall to the floor.

It is made with fleece and a sturdy twill on the back. You could use canvas or anything sturdy, really. I used cotton strapping with buckles to attach it to each of the four headrests and it seems to work out great!! I love that I can just toss it in the wash when needed and it seems to trap all the hair and droll in one place!

His & Hers Puppy Blankets

I made this reversible blanket for Sawyer when his mom & dad first got him.

A couple years later, they brought him home a sister. Of course, she needed a blanket too!

Yoga Bag

Ever since I saw this gray and white fabric I have wanted to cover a chair with it! Since I don't have any experience doing that, I thought I'd start with a bag for my yoga mat! I love how it turned out!

Crayon Rolls

I love the concept of bringing along crayons for little ones to have something to do while they may be waiting. This is a great way to travel with crayons without them ending up at the bottom of your purse or broken. I will be making more of these and I think I'd also like to add room for a pad of paper.
